Ringing in my ears were gunshots,
Vainly I tried to hold the sniper rifle steady,
Breathing in the cold, chilling air,
That spoke nothing but death, destruction, despair.

Icicles hang from rooftops,
It's all too silent,
Sometimes I think I'm dead,
Only to hear a scream and a bullet,
The wind filled with dread.

Train tracks below me,
Laying on my stomach, something,
Wishing that this war was over,
Wishing on a dead four leaf clover.

Blood covers snow, but I've stopped looking,
Thankfully, for otherwise,
I might just die inside,
Knowing that was all that remained of my comrades.

Lone wolf,
Prepare to die,
You caused this
Now you're mine.

A shot rang out and struck him,
Maybe a sign,
As his memories faded,
I learned to treasure mine, anew,
Forever.

Just like my brothers
Before they died.

i like this a lot, it moved efficiently for what it spoke of. it had solid imagery and sensory details. the only thing is there are some words which clutter.

for example

Just like my brothers
Did before they died.

i think the ''did'' throws off the read. but that's just me. good job overall.
